Aiming to revolutionize the fashion industry by connecting thrift stores and clothing recyclers to fast fashion waste to promote a circular economy
Circular Economy
Clonnect is a platform for major global fashion brands and recycling partners to cooperate on closing the loop for production leftovers. By making leftover information from garment factories visible online, we enable the virtual traceability of fabrics through circular life cycles from the factory onwards. It aims to connect the full supply chain of textile waste from source to recycling, and all stakeholders involved in these supply chains. We will map volumes of waste by composition, type and location, match it with the best possible recycling solution, build and manage efficient and transparent supply chains for delivering the waste at the best cost and quality, and capture and analyse data throughout the transactions to build market insight and traceability of the material flows.
A SCENARIO
Scenario
Ms. Harshita is a shopaholic with an overflowing closet. She wants to dispose of some of her clothes in an eco-friendly way but doesn’t know any thrift shops or upcyclers who’d take them.
On the other hand, we have Ms. Reena who runs a local thrift shop in Kolkata. She needs good quality clothing in bulk but has an unsteady source of good quality clothing. She struggles to find enough stock to keep up with demand and the changing trends at an affordable price.
Ms. Saloni is very environmentally conscious and wants to be more sustainable. She doesn’t want to spend too much on clothes she’ll wear just a few times and is aware of the waste generated by fast fashion brands but due to lack of options in her local thrift store she’s unable to keep up with current fashion trends.
